We know that signing up for a retreat can bring up a lot of questions—both practical and personal. This page is here to help answer the most common ones we hear, so you can feel confident and prepared as you consider joining us. If your question isn’t answered here, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to help!

  • We will be staying in the Shores Cabins at Camp Geneva. Entry into each cabin opens to a gathering lobby which leads into two separate bunk bed style sleeping rooms with their own restroom/shower area. For your comfort, we will do our best to only utilize the bottom bunk of each bunkbed. Cabins are carpeted, heated, and offer a close proximity with great views of Lake Michigan. Take a virtual tour of this exact style of cabin here!

  • Yes! You’re welcome to come with a friend, and roommate requests can be made directly within the registration. We’ll do our best to honor all requests.

  • Yes! Scholarships are available, and if you are in need of assistance, please reach out to Dawn Gergen at dawn@mychristchurch.org. She’ll be happy to help you take your next steps.

  • The retreat is open to women 16 years and older. We want every participant to feel supported and cared for, so any minor attending will need a designated parent or guardian with them. You can let us know about this during registration, and we’ll make sure everything is set up to help your time together be safe and meaningful.

  • Our time together will be a thoughtful rhythm of guided prayer, Scripture, worship, and teaching, with space built in to rest, reflect, and connect with one another. There will be a mix of large-group gatherings and quieter moments for personal prayer and journaling—so you won’t be “on” the entire time. Everything is designed to create a peaceful, unhurried environment where you can meet with God at a pace that feels life-giving, not exhausting.

  • You don’t need to have all the answers to attend. This retreat is a safe place to come as you are—curious, tired, questioning, or even unsure. We will guide you through prayer and Scripture, and there will be space to reflect privately. God meets us where we are, not where we think we “should” be, and He delights in every step you take toward Him.

  • You are not alone—many women arrive feeling nervous or unsure of what to expect. The retreat is designed to foster connection in authentic ways. There is no pressure to talk more than you are comfortable with, and you’ll find moments for both personal reflection and community. Often, it’s in these shared, relaxed moments that friendships naturally form. There will also be women happy to sit with you, help guide you in prayer, encourage journaling, or answer any questions you may have, so you’ll always have support if you need it.

  • Because your soul needs it. In the midst of life’s demands, it’s easy to lose sight of God’s voice and the peace He offers. This retreat is a sacred pause—a chance to step away from distractions, refocus on what truly matters, and experience God’s presence in a deep, renewing way. The time you invest here isn’t just for a weekend; it’s a gift that will refresh your heart, clarify your purpose, and equip you to return to life with renewed strength, hope, and joy.
