Live in Groups

grow in community

THE PURPOSE

The purpose of our community groups is to cultivate a community where disciples of Christ can grow and thrive in order to live out our kingdom calling.

"To cultivate a community…”

The foundation of our community groups is Christ. The community we’re striving to foster is defined by God’s word. Our groups should be pockets of God’s rule and reign.

“…Where disciples of Christ can grow and thrive…”

We experience growth and flourishing in and through relationships: our relationship with God and our relationships with others in the community of believers.

“…in order to live out our Kingdom Calling.”

Even so, relationships are not the purpose; they are a precious means by which God leads us into the greater purpose. Our groups have a purpose greater than themselves.

THE FORM

We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some in homes and some at the church. As a community group member, you will have an opportunity to flourish in the body of Christ at Christ Church. This will happen as you embrace the values we share, actively invest in one another’s lives, and ‘take up your towel’ for God’s glory and the good of others (Mark 10:42-45; John 13:1-17; John 15:1-8; 1 Peter 4:9-10).

Our community groups are structured around four main components that enable us to focus our time and attention on what matters most: connection (Romans 15:7), God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16), disclosure (Ephesians 4:25), and prayer (Deuteronomy 4:7).
