Fall Revival 2024: Made Alive
Unplug and Reconnect with God with an intentional weekend away in Holland Michigan at Camp Geneva. Join us for an incredibly catalytic weekend of faith renewal and formation. As fall comes to a close, as sports and other activities slow down, it's time to take a step out of the hustle and bustle of daily life to be with God and his people for a time of revival.
What to Expect:
This whole weekend is designed to push students deeper into a relationship with God, connect with other students, and recharge your spirit for the coming season. We're packing our Fall Revival with exciting activities, meaningful discussions and opportunities for personal growth. We are expecting God to work mightily in the lives of our students and leaders as we teach and reflect through Ephesians, would you join us in praying ahead of this time away!

Registration opens on August 25th.
Registration is $130 per student.
Scholarships are available as needed and upon request. To receive a scholarship you must email Collin by October 27th.
Registration closes at 1pm on November 6th.
As the retreat approaches spots will fill up. We will begin a waitlist and consider adding more cabin space.

DROP OFF: Arrive at church between 5:00pm and 5:15pm, we will depart at 5:30pm

After exploring what drives the mission of Christ Church in Step 1, Step 2 is designed to help people consider the map to engagement and the marks of a true disciple of Christ. This is an ideal setting for asking questions as you consider commitment to Christ Church. Step 2 takes place during the 11:00am service as well!

Because we are well aware of our hearts' hard-wired desire to worship something. And if we aren't regularly encountering the wonder and worth of God and being encouraged to exalt Him with our entire life, we will quickly give our worship away to much lesser things that steal our focus and attention.
We don't need fresh experiences to thrill us or even fresh songs to move us to worship God. We need fresh encounters with Him. Moments of prayer and worship in His presence, where we find "fullness of joy" and "pleasures forevermore" (Psalm 16:11). At Christ Church, we believe that Christian baptism is a public declaration of salvation through Christ and an identification with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection signified by immersion in water. Baptisms take place in our worship services throughout the year, and to help you better understand this next step of your faith, we would love for you to attend our baptism class! This class is a prerequisite to being baptized, so sign up today!

Family Dedications will be held on November 24 during both the 9:00am and 11:00am services. Please register using the link provided. When registering, please note the following:
If you would like your child/children to be dedicated we ask that you first take a Biblical Principles of Parenting class. The class will be 1 hour or less and will be held on Sunday, November 17, during the 9:00am service. All parents dedicating their child/children will need to take the class.
If all participating parents have already taken the class you will not be required to take it again.

This step is all about helping you get connected: connected in relationship and connected to the mission! Step 1 is a great place to begin meeting people and building relationships as well as exploring the mission of Christ Church and what we value most. Step 1 takes place during the 11:00am worship service. No need to dress up, we just look forward to meeting you!
As the Fall season approaches, we wanted to extend a warm invitation to all of you for a fun-filled family hangout at Heritage Farms on Saturday, October 19th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. You and your family can enjoy hay rides as well as the play area, which includes the jumping pillow, playground, farm town, yard games, and gopher slides! There will also be cider and donuts! In partnership with the Muskegon Rescue Mission, we are collecting mashed potatoes, canned yams, and french fried onions for the Thanksgiving Baskets that will be distributed to the community. Our goal is to donate 225 packages of each by November 5. Donations can be dropped off in the Christ Church lobby.

We are excited to announce that the Muskegon Rescue Mission will be hosting their annual Rise Up Together Gala here at Christ Church on Thursday, October 3, 2024. This inspiring evening will be an experience dedicated to supporting the hungry and homeless in West Michigan.
Here are couple ways that you can get involved:
Serving - We are in need of volunteers in the parking lot, greeting and hospitality, as well as set-up and tear-down. If you are interested in serving, please click the "SERVE" button below.
Attend the Gala - This evening will be an informational event featuring incredible life transformation stories from former guests and community partners, showcasing the profound impact of our community’s faithful support. In this breakout, we will learn that all longing is satisfied when we dwell in the secret place of the Most High, as we remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1)
Let Love Be Genuine: Purposeful Discipleship | Brett Koch
Everyone is called as a disciple to be making more disciples. Sometimes we feel like we aren’t making a big enough impact. Our greatest impact is in the little moments every day that we love a few at a time. This session is a space where we talk about some of the practical ideas around loving and discipling others.
Find encouragement for your marriage on Friday, September 20 at 6:00pm at Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference Center. This marriage date night is all about the good food, good teaching, and good fun! Whether you have been married for 50 days or 50+ years, it is valuable to refocus on God’s design for marriage, while being reenergized for the daily call to love one another!

Join our Theology 1 study that will run for six weeks starting September 10, 2024 on Tuesday mornings. During this study we will experience God's love, faithfulness, and care for us through learning and reflection on foundational Christian truths. Studying theology is a doorway to greater intimacy with God himself. In this course we will work to bring an active faith into every part of our walk with the Lord.

Finally, we'll consider how our time together plays a significant role in the mission and life of our church and beyond!

What is a Freedom Group?
A Freedom Group is focused on powerful, group-based Biblical counseling. It is designed to fill a gap between the everyday care that is given in community groups and formal counseling. As a church, we know that sometimes needs come up that go deeper than can be worked out in community groups. Freedom Groups help target sin struggles, while instilling the habit and discipline of having regular communication with God, and going to Him early and often when troubling circumstances happen. This group is also designed to help participants embrace deep discipleship through peer interaction targeting the heart.
Who are Freedom Groups for?
Well, honestly, everyone could benefit from Freedom Groups as they are a tool meant to lead people on from spiritual infancy to spiritual maturity! But specifically speaking, I have highlighted below the type of person that would greatly benefit from Freedom Group involvement:
Those stuck in sin patterns
Those who do not know how to walk out repentance
Those who are mourning, in pain, or enduring trial
Those who are wandering in their faith
Those who simply want to grow on to spiritual maturity in Christ
As you can see, everyone could benefit in some way from Freedom Groups, but our hope is that Freedom Groups can be a space that points to the mission that Jesus fulfilled by bringing good news and healing to the afflicted, binding up the brokenhearted, proclaiming liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners. (Isaiah 61:1)
Freedom Groups will meet Monday evenings starting September 9, 2024 at 6:30pm and will run for a total of 13 weeks. Each session is 2 hours and consists of a teaching segment and time to break off into table groups.

Community Group Leadership Training
The mission of Christ Church is to love God, love others, and make disciples of all nations. One of the primary places discipleship is worked out in our church is in community groups. These times of connection, prayer, studying God’s Word, and accountability are vital to our spiritual growth and transformation as disciples of Jesus.
As God continues to grow our church, the need for more community groups is also increasing! If you would like more clarity on community group leadership or are ready to be equipped, this training is for you. The training will be hosted at Christ Church over two days: Friday, March 8, from 6:30 - 9:00pm and Saturday, March 9, from 9:00am - 12:00pm. We’ll be offering refreshments for everyone present, so please register to let us know you'll be joining us.

Winterfest is an awesome weekend for all of our 6th-12th grade students to get away for 3 days for worship, preaching, and community. This year, we are excited to go to Lake Ann Camp with our high school and middle school students combined along with the students of several other partner churches! In addition to all of the fun, it will be a great opportunity for the students to get away from their everyday distractions and focus on Jesus and the life He has to offer! Students Christmas Party
Slip into your comfiest pajamas, fluffiest slippers, and your most festive gear for an evening packed with Christmas excitement. We'll gather on December 17 at 6:30pm to explore the wonder of the incarnation and immerse ourselves in the Christmas story. No Christmas party is complete without games, treats, hot chocolate, and friends. We are looking forward to an amazing evening together!
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says that God created you with eternity in your heart. That deep down in your soul, you know your existence is bigger than this lifetime. As Paul Tripp says, we are "hardwired for awe," but so often we live our days searching for for awe in all the wrong places: music that moves us, movies that thrill us, experiences that excite us...and so on.
But we are not just hardwired for awe. We are hardwired for awe of God. And no other source of awe will satisfy the longing in our souls and give our hearts the joy, peace, and rest that we seek. We need more than fresh experiences. We need a Fresh Encounter.
